The meeting was called to order February 4, 2026 at 7:20PM.
We had a quorum. The minutes of the last AGM were approved and seconded. All agreed,
President's report: We all worked hard last year. Dan, with help from the club members did a great job of organizing our show last year. As Brittania is undergoing a large renovation and we are not sure we would have enough carving entries to put on a show this year, we are going to concentrate on demos to attract new members. Next year, we will plan to do a show. With the new Steveston Community Centre, there may be a possibility to make arrangements with them to hold our next year's show there. We shall look into this.
Demos: Becks comments it is hard to get volunteers during the summer. The one event we should participate in during the summer will be the Maritime Festival on August 23rd. Three other dates for demos will be May 24, June 7th, and Sep 20th. These are coincide with Cultural Days. We are not sure where we will be located. A possibility is in the new boat building. Will be confirmed later.
Dan mentioned the Pacific Brandt Carving Show in Qualicum Beach. It will be held April 10th to 12th. If anyone is interested in attending and submitting their carvings, this would be a good choice.
The current Executive resigned. A big thank you for all that gave their time in the positions they took during the past year. The floor was opened for new people to step forward for the positions. The new Executive is as follows:
President: Nathan Jennings accepted for another year.
VP: Mike Cohene accepted for another year.
Treasurer: Alex accepted for another year.
Secretary: Todd Malone has agreed to take this position. Linda Lait was the past secretary.
Show: Dan Lemire accepted for another year with Becks assisting him.
Newsletter: Neil Elmer accepted for another year.
Demos: Becks accepted for another year.
Social: Beryl accepted for another year.
Website: Gord Mielke has agreed to take this position. Mike Cohene took care of previsouly.
Membership: Joint effort.
Nathan thanks everyone for attending and paying their dues.
